Stratford not retreating from Army plant RICHARD WEIZEL Connecticut Post Online March 10, 2007STRATFORD - The Town Council appears poised to declare war on the Army in a last-ditch bid to regain control over development of the 79-acre former Army engine plant on Main Street. Despite Army officials' repeated warnings that the battle is over and it will determine the site's future, the council is expected to approve a resolution supporting its designated developer, Team Stratford, when it meets at 8 p.m. Monday in Town Hall. Council leaders in both parties indicate they will vote to approve the resolution authorizing Mayor James. R. Miron and Council Chairman James Feehan, R-9, to request the "assistance, guidance and counsel" of the town's congressional delegation to try to take back control from the Army. ...
