What Should Crystal City's Future Hold?

CRYSTAL CITY, Va. - Crystal City is on the verge of change as military 
jobs shift with the Defense Department's Base Realignment and Closure 
plan. But what will the future hold for this area?

Arlington County leaders have been working on ideas on how to make 
Crystal City feel more like a livable city and on how to draw more 
businesses. The goal is to make every block here interesting.

The preliminary plans drawn up by consultant Torti Gallas and Partners 
would redevelop Crystal City with new office, retail and residential 
space. The future could include bigger buildings, an underground 
theater, a recreational area for concerts and festivals and parks and 
neighborhood green areas.
