Bush approved the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure list issued by the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD), which recommended 33 major U.S. military bases be closed and 29 others be "realigned," a term indicating gains or losses of staff or facilities to be completed at the bases. ...CoStar spoke with Paul Kalomiris, Executive Director of the Association of Defense Communities (ADC), formerly known as the NAID.
