Listing on the NPL is also favorable from the 
standpoint of funding. DOD places greater 
emphasis on cleanup of bases which are on or 
proposed for inclusion on the NPL, when compared 
to bases which are not on the NPL. I believe 
that this is even the case for bases which are subject 
to closure, and are funded by the BRAC accounts, 
not the DERA account.
