APEC-NGO REPORT AND MILITARY TOXICS FORUM 
Tuesday night, February 18, 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
UC Extension Building - 6th Floor Conference Room
2223 Fulton, Berkeley

 You are invited to attend an informal report-back session
regarding recent international meetings in the Philippines. 
Jorge Emmanuel will be reporting on the Manila Forum, one of the
international conferences of non-governmental organizations that
met in Manila, Philippines in November in response to the Asia
Pacific Economic Conference that was held at Subic and hosted by
the Philippine government.

 Saul Bloom and Nick Morgan will be reporting on the
International Military Toxics Forum that was also held in Manila
in November. The Toxics Forum was attended by representatives
from countries around the world that are dealing with the toxic
waste problems created by current and former U.S. military bases.

 Emmanuel was also a participant in the Toxics Forum.

 Saul Bloom is director of ARC Ecology and Nick Morgan was
formerly with Greenpeace International, and previously with the
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Jorge Emmanuel is a
physicist and a board member of the Asia Pacific Center for
Justice and Peace. All three are members of the U.S. Working
Group for Philippine Bases Cleanup.

 The discussion will be held at the University Extension
Building, 6th Floor Conference Room, 2223 Fulton Avenue,
Berkeley, from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.

 Sponsors of the evening include the U.S. Working Group for
Philippine Bases Cleanup - Northern California and the Pacific
Asia Center for Theology and Strategies.
