Mike At the APG RAB, there is a contractor who tapes the meeting and transcribes it in meeting minutes. The draft minutes are mailed to the RAB members for review and corrections. The minutes while not being actual transcripts are thorough, saying who said what, etc. They tend to average about 20 typed pages (single spaced) for the 2-2 1/2 hour meeting. I should note that the review process is an important point as the contractor in the past tried different tactics to reduces costs by making them shorter and more general; it is important to remain firm on this point. If they are done well, they are an excellent source for review to if your site is like APG where a particular site is addressed only semi-annually or anually. Additionally, they are a good check against the double talk and change of positions which occur over time. Another thing we are moving toward are study area binders for the RAB members to maintain site-specific RAB inforation (APG has 13 different Study Areas encompassing tens of thousands of acres), but that is a different issue. Good luck Ted Henry | |
