Subject: | ICMA Risk Assessment Guidance Conference |
Risk Assessment Guidance for Superfund (RAGS) Stakeholder Forum Westin Peachtree Plaza Atlanta, Georgia March 2 - 4, 1998 ICMA and EPA will host a dialogue to discuss revisions to EPA's Risk Assessment Guidance for Superfund (RAGS). RAGS revision was identified as one of EPA's administrative reforms to the national Superfund program. Risk ssessments are used to estimate the current or potential risks to human health and the environment posed by contamination from Superfund sites, and to help determine the level of cleanup. We invite you to join other local government officials, federal and state agency representatives, industry members, and citizens to provide your input and suggestions for improvements in four key areas that have been identified for revisions: (1) community involvement, (2) land use, (3) background concentrations for risk assessment, and (4) probabilistic/uncertainty analysis.
