Subject: | Oral History clarification |
I appreciate all the comments some private, some to the listserver - I have received underscoring the importance interviewing former military base workers when studying facility contamination. I want to clarify one point. Bases which are closing or which have active cleanup program already conduct such interviews routinely. I'm trying to address those installations where interviews might normally start in five or ten years. If we wait to collect such information, it might disappear. That's why a comprehensive oral history project, in advance of site characterization, would prove valuable to long-term cleanup efforts.
