The April 1st edition of Westword (The Denver area's independent weekly newspaper) features an article about EPA Ombudsman Robert Martin and his investigation at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal. Most of the sites Martin investigates are Superfund sites. The Rocky Mountain Arsenal, also a Superfund site, is the first federal facility the ombudsman's office has taken on. The office is often alerted to problem sites by hometown citizens and activists. Martin took on the Rocky Mountain Arsenal after local citizens learned of his existence and urged him to visit the arsenal. A preliminary review convinced Martin to begin a full investigation.
