This message came in from Jim Oyler. As readers of this listserver may
recall, the United Tribe of Shawnee Indians is seeking ownership of (at
least) portions of the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant, Kansas. The
inactive plant has been declared surplus federal property.

>From Jim's message, it appears that a state official favoring an
alternate transfer have publicly suggested that Jim's Tribe wants to
build a casino on the property

Governor Graves, your Mr. Ron Green stated at the Johnson County Forms on
SFAAP that the United Tribe of Shawnee Indians wanted SFAAP for an Indian
Casino.

That is an outright lie.

You well know that Indian Land has to have been in Trust Status for an
Indian Casino to be built on same before 1988. See: 25 CFR Indians.

It is hereby demanded your office issue an apology to the United Tribe of

Shawnees for Mr. Ron Green's false statement.

Jimmie D. Oyler, Principal Chief
United Tribe of Shawnee Indians
