Subject: | Preliminary Assessment of Munitions in San Diego Bay Primary ShipChannels |
In 1997 the Navy discovered munitions in dredged material from San Diego Bay, including eleven 20mm rounds, two 81mm rounds. This raised concern that other munitions may be present in the bay. The Navy recently posted the following fact sheet: "Preliminary Assessment of Munitions in San Diego Bay Primary Ship Channels and STENNIS Homeporting Beach Replenishment Areas" It's available from the Southwest Division Naval Facilities Engineering Command website: http://www.efdswest.navfac.navy.mil/DEP/ENV/pages/msdbfs1.pdf You'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view it, which you can download for free from: http://www.adobe.com/prodindex/acrobat/readstep.html | |
