INNOVATIVE ENVIRONMENTAL TREATMENT TECHNOLOGIES
SOUGHT FOR DEMONSTRATION AT NAVAL BASES
IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

(Oakland, CA) The Bay Area Defense Conversion Action Team's
Environmental Technology Partnership ("BADCAT ETP") is seeking proposals
for self-funded field demonstrations of treatment technologies in three
areas:

1. THE TREATMENT OF DNAPLs: The partnerships seeks technologies
capable of eliminating the deleterious effects of Dense Non- Aqueous
Phase Liquids ("DNAPLs") from soils in an effective and cost efficient
manner. All types of treatment technologies will be considered,
including in-situ thermal and surfactant enhanced remediation
technologies.

2. ENHANCED BIOREMEDIATION OF GROUNDWATER BENEATH LANDFILLS: BADCAT
ETP seeks improved methods of bioremediating groundwater to decrease
contamination. Groundwater located beneath landfills is one location of
interest, but proposals need not be limited to this area. The types of
technologies that will be considered include, but are not limited to,
additives or other augmentation compounds which stimulate
bioremediation.

3. IN-SITU TREATMENT OF PCBs AND PESTICIDES WITHIN WETLAND AREAS:
BADCAT ETP is seeking to demonstrate the effectiveness of new
technologies to remediate PCBs and/or pesticides in San Francisco Bay
mud and shoreline sediments. Ideally, such technological innovations
would limit the dispersal of these contaminants, but not involve capping
or removal of the media.

BADCAT ETP is a public-private partnership helping to expedite transfer
of the Bay Area's closing military bases by integrating new
environmental technologies into the remediation process. Accepted
technologies will be demonstrated at one of the area's naval
facilities. Local or California-based technology providers - or those
willing to relocate or establish satellite offices in the Bay Area -
will be given preference. For proposal format, deadlines and other
information, please contact the BADCAT ETP Coordinator at (510) 986-0303
or e-mail rctruitt@aol.com, or visit the web site at
