Subject: [CPEO-MEF] This Site Never Ceases to Amaze

Lenny,

While I believe in the stated intent of your CPEO site and the goals that
have been expressed by some of the postings, I find it amazing sometimes how
events and agendas are being driven. As part of a separate educational
assignment, I've tracked the content of your site over the past few weeks and
found the ratio of "bitching, moaning, complaining, outright hatred, and
dissatisfaction with the process and pace of things, etc. to the number of
offered or potential solutions to be so wide as to be almost non existent.
By my count it's about 64/1. (Non Scientific) I also find that many of the
authors do not respond to follow-up questions when approached directly. They
"flame" their opinions and arguments across the world on your site then
disappear into the cyber world. Much like the many problems that currently
exist between the DoD and EPA, there is no feeling of ownership. People can
say whatever they want and agree to anything, knowing that they will not be
held responsible for that decision down the line.
I believe in an open forum where an exchange of ideas, issues, and
concerns can be expressed with the hope of "raising all boat" and increasing
the level of knowledge of the participants and mutual understanding of the
opposing viewpoints. I am dismayed that this site had not been meeting that
goal lately. Perhaps you can divide the site into a section where anyone can
post their most creative critiques of the world and another site devoted
to the actual search for consensus and solutions to the environmental
problems facing this country.

Thanks,

Scott
