environmental/policy analyst position that the KIRC will be hiring for

Remediation Coordinator
(Full time State Exempt Position - Based on Maui)

The Kaho`olawe Island Reserve Commission (KIRC) is seeking a Remediation 
Coordinator to serve as the KIRC's operational point of contact for the 
U.S. Navy's cleanup and environmental restoration of the island.  Duties 
include: monitoring and detailed analysis of cleanup activities, 
assessment of potential impacts to the Reserve; and report preparation 
and correspondence. Excellent analytical, communication, and computer 
skills essential. Applicants must be willing to travel on short notice 
and work in potentially
hazardous field conditions.

Candidates need a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible 
experience in environmental remediation or planning; natural resource 
protection; hazardous substance release response; historic site 
protection; conservation; unexploded ordnance clearance; or construction 
management.  A bachelor's degree in the physical or biological sciences, 
planning, engineering, or other related field is required.
