Fire Contained at Ex-US Army Plant 

KARNACK, Texas (AP) - A fire in a former ammunition factory on a Superfund
site was extinguished after burning about 14 hours Friday.

Officials with the Environmental Protection Agency said the building was
several miles from the hazardous site being cleaned. No contaminates or
hazardous fumes were released, EPA spokesman Dave Bary said.

The sprawling, wooded site was once home to the 8,500-acre Longhorn Army
Ammunition Plant and is being cleaned up under the EPA's Superfund program.
