Army targeted for Kenya deaths City law firm to sue over ordnance allegedly left after training James Astill in Nairobi Saturday March 24, 2001 The Guardian A City law firm is preparing to sue the British Army on behalf of hundreds of Kenyans killed or maimed by ordnance left lying around after training exercises in northern Kenya. On a fact-finding mission to the army's training grounds in rural Kenya this week, a British legal team saw unexploded artillery shells and grenades scattered where farmers graze their herds. They recorded more than 200 related accidents, up to half of them fatal and 90% of them involving children.
