Europe French Villagers To Be Evacuated To Remove WWI Shells

600 people will be evacuated from a village in northeast France after the
discovery of 164 tons of unexploded World War I artillery shells.

Construction workers found the German shells in the village of
Chatelet-sur-Retourne.

Residents will be forced to leave the village for up to nine days to allow
authorities to remove the shells.

In April, 13,000 people were evacuated near the northern French town of Vimy
after the discovery of a stockpile of World War I munitions.
