Subject: | [CPEO-MEF] Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Second National Report on Human E |
The following was posted by William Walsh <WALSHW@pepperlaw.com> ______________________________________________ As you may already have heard, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) will release its Second National Report on Human Exposure to Environmental Chemicals on line (see www.cdc.gov/exposurereport <http://www.cdc.gov/exposurereport) at 10:30 a.m. EST on Friday January 31. It will include human biomonitoring data on PCBs, dioxin, PAHs, lead, mercury, and many other chemicals (see attached list of chemicals monitored). As last year's report noted, the detection of a chemical does not demonstrate that the chemical has or will cause harm. The Environmental Working Group ("EWG") (an environmental group) is scheduled to post its complete report on "Body Burdens" (tomorrow) January 30 at 11:00 a.m. as it conducts a "Body Burden" press briefing. The briefing will be held at EWG's headquarters (1436 U St., N.W., Suite 100). EWG also published an advertisement in the New York Times. Speaking at the EWG press briefing will be: Charlotte Brody - Healthcare Without Harm Andrea Martin - The Breast Cancer Fund Monique Harden - Environmental Attorney Jane Houlihan - Environmental Working Group Richard Wiles - Environmental Working Group ***************************************************** This electronic mail transmission contains confidential information intended only for the person(s) named.
