Colorado THE DENVER POST Lowry builders win OK to resume work State approves plan to contain asbestos By Kristi Arellano Tuesday, June 03, 2003 - Homebuilders at Lowry have received the go-ahead to start excavation work after a 5-week hiatus caused by the discovery of asbestos at the former military base. The Colorado Department of Health and Public Environment has approved a plan submitted by the Lowry Redevelopment Authority and homebuilders working on the site. The plan details how the groups will keep dust from becoming airborne during construction. Now that the plan is approved, groundwork, which was halted on April 24, can resume. "We're excited to be able to start working again," said Jeff Kingsbury, director of sales and marketing for McStain Neighborhoods, one of the builders in Lowry's northwest neighborhood.
