Subject: | [CPEO-MEF] Chemistry |
I was recently going over the chemical lists for the types of artillery fired into Lake Michigan and came across several instances of: K Chlorate (33.4%) .83 GR I am assuming this is Potassium Chlorate. Is this similar or the same as Perchlorate? Several times the results I got for a Perchlorate search on Google came back with either Potassium Perchlorate in the document or Potassium Chlorate so I was thinking they may be similar. I am planning to file another citizen petition per the National Contingency Plan for a Preliminary Assessment to be conducted by the EPA since it is estimated that 1 million rounds were fired and 10% are assumed to be UXO. Highwood and Highland Parks water treatment plant intakes are 1/2 mile and 1 mile downlake from them lakebed UXO field. I will post it when it is complete so others can use it as a template for similar requests for site assessment.
