To all interested parties: Re: Senate bill S. 1050 Amendment to section 2705 (d) (2) of Title 10, US Code: Section 326. APPLICABILITY OF CERTAIN PROCEDURAL & ADMINISTRATIVE RQMTS TO RESTORATION ADVISORY BOARDS. (C) (i) section 10 (a) (2) of the Federal Advisory Committee Act/FACA (5 USC App.), relating to publication in the Federal Register of notices of meetings of advisory committees, shall not apply to any meeting of a restoration advisory board under this subsection, but a restoration advisory board shall publish timely notice of each meeting of the restoration advisory board in a local newspaper of general circulation. (ii) no limitation under any provision of law or regulations on the total number of advisory boards (as that term is defined in section 3 (2) of the FACA ) in existence at any one time shall under this subsection at any one time. This bill is also known as the National Defense Authorization Act/NDAA for FY 2004 which has been passed by both houses & is currently being mulled over in the Joint Conference Committee. Senators Warner, Chair of the Senate Armed Forces Comm. & Levin, ranking minority member amongst other participants are currently seeking to hammer out an accommodation w/the House version of the NDAA which is House Res. 1588.
