Massachusetts GROTON LANDMARK Environmental cleanup updates at tomorrow's Devens RAB meeting Wednesday, August 13, 2003 - 8:00:40 AM EST DEVENS -- Area residents are invited to attend the Devens Restoration Advisory Board meeting Thursday, Aug. 14, for updates on Devens environmental cleanup and restoration work. The projects are being carried out under the supervision of the BRAC Environmental Office in conjunction with EPA and MassDEP. The meeting will take place at the Devens Commerce Center, 43 Buena Vista St., starting at 7 p.m. Projects to be reported on include Shepley's Hill Landfill, where means are being sought to prevent the continued migration of contaminated groundwater north from the landfill. An update will be provided on a private company's work to remediate a plume of cleaning fluid (tetrachloroethylene or PCE) moving in groundwater under the former Army airfield from a source next to Route 2A, extending under the airfield area to the Nashua River.
