The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is suing Unidynamics-Phoenix Inc. and its parent company, Crane Co., for not following clean-up plans for a former defense site at the Phoenix-Goodyear Airport. The EPA is seeking $2.8 million to reimburse the expenses it drew from the federal Superfund to pay for clean-up activities that it alleges Crane refused to do. EPA also is seeking three times that amount in damages, as permitted under the Superfund law.
