"That will not satisfy us," said Faye E. Yonker, who lives near the proposed site on Milford Neck Road. "It's still going to present a dangerous situation" along Del. 1. Kent County Levy Court will hold a public hearing on the plan Tuesday night, and county officials and opponents predict a repeat of the overflow crowd when the county's Regional Planning Commission voted unanimously July 8 to issue an unfavorable recommendation. Despite that recommendation, the project still is very much alive, largely because state and county officials view it as an important step in protecting Dover Air Force Base as federal officials choose military bases to close next year. ... Eastern Shore Environmental wants to move its transfer station from Postles Corner Road near Dover Air Force Base to the Milford Neck Road site.
