Agent Orange search on hold By DIANA CAMPBELL Fairbanks Daily News-Miner (AK) September 10, 2004 A U.S. Army Corps of Engineers investigation into a man's claim that he buried six barrels of Agent Orange in Tok 30 years ago is on hold. The corps, which had planned to go to Tok this summer and search for signs of the barrels and determine if there was any contamination, has not been able to get to the site. "Basically we've been unable to come to an agreement to come onto the property," said Rich Jackson, project manager with the corps in Anchorage. Jackson did not explain why access has been denied by John Terwilliger, the owner. Terwilliger did not return the News-Miner's phone calls The property now houses Nugget Construction, Terwilliger's business, but was once part of the White Alice Communication System 30 years ago. White Alice was a military communications system in the 1950s that linked data from aircraft and missile early warning systems to the North American Aerospace Defense Command.
