Watertown Citizens for Environmental Safety is 25 years old. Which means
that those of us who were founding members of the organization gathered
in our living rooms 25 years ago to share our concerns about the quality
of our environment. Back then, we explored questions about the dangers
of nuclear power, how should we best handle the lead paint in our old
houses, and most pointedly, what did it mean that we had a
decommissioned nuclear reactor in our own backyard on the Arsenal site.

The roots and shape of the fledgling organization were profoundly
influenced by who we were, the times we were living in, and how we were together.
