On Sept. 1, the Missile Defense Agency released the Ballistic Missile
Defense System Draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement. Those
who made written or oral comments on the BMDS last year should receive a
CD in the mail from the Missile Defense Agency. 

For those who did not comment, but would like to receive a free CD or
hard copy, the e-mail address is: mda.bmds.peis@icfconsulting.com, or
write to: MDA BMDS PEIS, c/o ICF Consulting, 9300 Lee Highway, Fairfax,
Va. 22031. 

The Draft PEIS can also be read online, although it takes some time to
download: http://www.acq.osd.mil/mda/peis/html/home.html. For
information contact Rick Lehner, MDA director of communications,
703-697-8997. 

While people were distracted with the presidential election, the Missile
Defense Agency quietly, and still is, preparing to launch lasers and
interceptors into space orbit (if there is not a nationwide public
outcry). Imagine lasers and interceptors aimed at targets anywhere on
Earth!
