Naval station cleanup complete, but ground water still monitored By TODD B. BATES Asbury Park Press (NJ) November 23, 2004 Tainted ground water that spread more than 2,000 feet off the Lakehurst Naval Air Engineering Station into an uninhabited area of Manchester is now under control, and chemical levels in the water have dropped, according to officials. While a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Web site says contaminated ground water from the Superfund hazardous waste site is not controlled, EPA project manager Paul G. Ingrisano disagreed and the Web site will be updated. "We feel that it is under control," Ingrisano said. "They have all the remedies in place." ...
