Decision document pending in Nike cleanup

With a draft plan now in hand, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials 
are readying the decision document concerning the cleanup of 
carcinogenic chemicals at the former Nike Missile Base in Oxford Township.

USACE spokeswoman Kimberlee Turner said an April date is projected for 
completion of the final decision document.

This month the plan is set to be sent to the Ohio EPA for its review and 
approval - a process that could take a few months, according to Turner.

She did note the proposed monitored natural attenuation cleanup, which 
calls for monitoring contaminant levels at the site for 36 years, could 
change.
