Field Lab is not in Rocketdyne sale Boeing retains Santa Susana site to finish its cleanup By Teresa Rochester Ventura County Star (CA) February 24, 2005 Rocketdyne Propulsion & Power is changing hands, but its contaminated facility at the Santa Susana Field Laboratory near Simi Valley isn't. Boeing Co. is selling Rocketdyne for about $700 million in cash to United Technologies Corp., according to a deal announced this week. However, the Connecticut-based firm won't be picking up Rocketdyne's longtime rocket engine testing site in the foothills between Simi Valley and the San Fernando Valley. Boeing will hold onto the Field Lab, the former home of several nuclear reactors, Rocketdyne spokesman John Mitchell said Wednesday. ...
