Subject: | [CPEO-MEF] Colorado stops oversight at Lowry AFB |
Submitted by Anne Callison <Awbarbour@aol.com> "For those of you who haven't heard, CDPHE has stopped all work on Lowry AFB until funding issues with the AF are resolved." These words came from a staff member at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. The Air Force is refusing to pay for the review services of the state. Of course it's complicated by other details, but welcome to the new world of the Air Force in BRAC IV. If this is a sign of times to come, we all have plenty to worry about. And Lenny is right about the meaning of the new-found plume at Ft. Ord. Just another glimpse into the future given the miserable past efforts at characterization and remediation at military bases. Why has Congress not launched criminal investigations? Just too big perhaps.
