Subject: | [CPEO-MEF] FY 06 DOD Environmental Request |
On March 15, 2005, Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Installations and
Environment) Philip W. Grone summarized the Department's environmental
budget. This table is best read in a monospace font such as Courier.
FY05 Approp. FY06 Request Environmental Restoration 1,352 1,370 BRAC Environmental* 328 449 Compliance 1,666 1,561 Pollution Prevention 142 143 Conservation 175 205 Technology 274 206 International** 3 3 TOTAL 3,937 3,934 *Funding levels reflect total requirement. **International is included in Pollution Prevention and Compliance. The first footnote seems to suggest that non-budget funds, such as property sale revenues, are included in the Base Realignment and Closure environmental total. I am particularly concerned about the reduction in environmental technology funding, particularly since Congress has seen a need to increase such funds to address high priority concerns. - LS
