Hill opposes New Post By GEORGE WHITEHURST Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star (VA) July 13, 2005 The New Post saga continues, as Spotsylvania supervisors voted last night to cancel their public hearing on a county builder's plan for a 1,500-home mixed-use community. About 200 people showed up for last night's hearing on New Post, many of them sporting stickers emblazoned with the words, "New Post, Yes!" ... The deciding factor leading to the cancellation of last night's scheduled hearing was a letter from Lt. Col. James Mis, the commander of Fort A.P. Hill, questioning the project. ... "The approval of this request and others that would increase residential development near the Installation boundary is very likely to have an adverse effect on future military training and national security," Mis wrote. ...
