RDX found in Camp Edwards groundwater By JOE HEITZ and AMANDA LEHMERT Cape Cod Times (MA) July 25, 2005 A trace of a chemical used in military explosives, in an amount that exceeds the Environmental Protection Agency's lifetime health advisory, has been found in Camp Edwards groundwater. While drilling temporary wells to test for contaminants along the military base's boundary, the Army's Impact Area Groundwater Study Program recently found a detection of Royal Demolition Explosives, or RDX, above the federal agency's standard of 2 parts per billion near the Grand Oaks Road neighborhood, according to a program spokeswoman. The Upper Cape drinking water aquifer flows from under Camp Edwards. ...
