LINCOLN, Neb. -- Well fields in three cities have tested negative for
contaminants from explosives, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said.

The results were recently received from wells serving Lincoln, Ashland
and Memphis.

The corps has been working since the early 1990s to clean up

aquifer upstream of the wells that serve the three cities. The site is
included on the federal government's Superfund list of the nation's
worst environmental problems.
