Subject: | [CPEO-MEF] Final Munitions Response Site Prioritization Protocol |
>From the October 5, 2005 Federal Register DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE Office of the Secretary 32 CFR Part 179 Munitions Response Site Prioritization Protocol AGENCY: Department of Defense. ACTION: Final rule. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMARY: The Department of Defense (hereinafter the Department) is promulgating the Munitions Response Site (MRS) Prioritization Protocol (MRSPP) (hereinafter referred to as the rule) as a rule. This rule implements the requirement established in section 311(b) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2002 for the Department to assign a relative priority for munitions responses to each location (hereinafter MRS) in the Department's inventory of defense sites known or suspected of containing unexploded ordnance (UXO), discarded military munitions (DMM), or munitions constituents (MC). DATES: This rule is effective October 5, 2005. To download the entire rule as text, go to http://a257.g.akamaitech.net/7/257/2422/01jan20051800/edocket.access.gpo.gov/2005/05-19696.htm However, I strongly recommend, because of the Tables omitted from the text version, that one download the entire 39-page rule as a 1.9 M PDF file. I have not yet found a direct URL for doing that, but today one can go to the Federal Register Main Page at http://www.gpoaccess.gov/fr/index.html, and "Browse the Table of Contents from today's issue in HTML." Scroll down to the Defense Department listing to download the PDF file. On subsequent days it will be necessary to first find the October 5 table of contents to use this method. -- Lenny Siegel Director, Center for Public Environmental Oversight c/o PSC, 278-A Hope St., Mountain View, CA 94041 Voice: 650/961-8918 or 650/969-1545 Fax: 650/961-8918 <lsiegel@cpeo.org> http://www.cpeo.org _______________________________________________ Military mailing list Military@list.cpeo.org http://www.cpeo.org/mailman/listinfo/military | |
