County considering phase-out of lighted road flares

Lighted flares at the scene of accidents may soon be replaced with a 
more fire-safe and environmentally friendly alternative.

The San Bernardino County Consolidated Fire District is testing the use 
of LED lights and on Tuesday the Board of Supervisors will consider 
urging law enforcement agencies to also explore such alternatives.
