ROSS Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle (TN) October 23, 2005 Fort Campbell officials say a proposed subdivision near Sabre Heliport in Montgomery County, and other future developments near the facility, could have the U.S. Army looking to move units from post and scrap plans for a new $250 million aviation brigade complex. Removal of active Fort Campbell units to military installations in other states, and curtailment of planned multi-million dollar expansions on post, would create negative financial reverberations across the region. Fort Campbell officials sought a "buffer zone" around the heliport requiring structures built within the Sabre Heliport Overlay to have noise abatement provisions, limits on light usage and limits on height. ...
