Post officials want to keep buffer around Sabre Heliport

Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle (TN)
October 23, 2005

Fort Campbell officials say a proposed subdivision near Sabre Heliport
in Montgomery County, and other future developments near the facility,
could have the U.S. Army looking to move units from post and scrap plans
for a new $250 million aviation brigade complex.

Removal of active Fort Campbell units to military installations in other
states, and curtailment of planned multi-million dollar expansions on
post, would create negative financial reverberations across the region.

Fort Campbell officials sought a "buffer zone" around the heliport
requiring structures built within the Sabre Heliport Overlay to have
noise abatement provisions, limits on light usage and limits on height.
