Mitchell Field survey on tap Rachel Ganong Brunswick Times Record (ME) December 6, 2005 HARPSWELL - While Brunswick is busy planning naval air station redevelopment, Harpswell is two steps closer to planning the reuse of another former Navy-used property, the 118.5-acre former fuel depot, now the town-owned George J. Mitchell Field. Townspeople voted to receive the fuel depot parcel in 1997. Since then, it has served as a proposed site for a liquefied natural gas terminal and more recently as a venue for the Harpswell Festival. At Thursday's meeting, selectmen authorized a professional survey of the property's buildings and approved a subcommittee to recommend its potential uses. ...
