Tallevast plume growing, tests find DONNA WRIGHT Bradenton Herald (FL) January 21, 2006 TALLEVAST - An independent consultant has confirmed that the Tallevast plume extends nearly to U.S. 301. "We have confirmed that the plume stretches throughout Tallevast and beyond and has reached three different aquifer zones," said Michael Graves, a geologist with Environmental Sciences & Technologies Inc. Moreover, the plume may be moving more rapidly than previously thought. Graves' firm was selected by the resident advocacy group Family Community United Strong (FOCUS) and its technical consultant Timothy Varney to run independent tests on private drinking water and irrigation wells and sample soil taken from residents' yards. Lockheed Martin Corp., which is responsible for cleaning up the plume, paid the $95,000 bill for Graves' analysis. ...
