Group to steer Bragg growthBy Henry Cuningham Fayetteville Observer (NC) January 25, 2006 Representatives of eight counties around Fort Bragg have agreed to establish a steering committee to address changes coming because of growth at Fort Bragg. The group voted Tuesday for retired Air Force Brig. Gen. Paul Dordal to be the interim representative to deal with the military. He is former wing commander at Pope and represented the Cumberland County Business Council in dealing with the federal commission that reviewed the Pentagon recommendations. "It's a big step that was taken today that the counties and municipalities that are effected by BRAC would vote to establish a regional organization for the coordination and the planning that is going to be necessary to make the most of the transition," Dordal said after the meeting. Planning needs to include discussions of the need for new housing, roads and flights at Fayetteville Regional Airport, Dordal said. ...
