Mercury leaving Hillsboro GSA Depot Officials say mercury being moved to Army site in Nevada. By PAMELA SROKA Bridgewater Courier News February 3, 2006 HILLSBOROUGH -- About 2,883 tons of mercury being stored at the GSA Depot on Route 206 will be transported to an Army depot in Nevada within 18 months, federal officials announced Thursday. The move is expected to be announced officially at a 1 p.m. news conference today at the South Somerville GSA Depot, which houses the majority of the nation's stockpile of mercury. The mercury stockpile became the focus of attention in 2000, when township officials learned 210 additional tons of mercury were being trucked in from a supply depot in Binghamton, N.Y. ...
