Hawaii dumping sites targeted By Jan TenBruggencate Honolulu Advertiser Army Times February 17, 2006 Sen. Daniel Akaka and Rep. Neil Abercrombie have introduced legislation to require the Army to conduct complete studies and recommend remediation of chemical weapon dumping sites off the Hawaiian Islands. Rep. Ed Case said he will co-sponsor the legislation. Akaka, Abercrombie and Case are all Democrats. "Given the hazardous risks that these munitions may pose, it is important for Congress to send the right message ... and ensure that the Army completes its survey, monitors the sites and provides a plan for remediation," said a written statement from Akaka. ...
