Korea, U.S. in tough talks over bases pollution By Lee Joo hee Korea Herald February 27, 2006 South Korea and the United States are engaged in tough negotiations over how to split the cost of cleaning up contaminated U.S. bases to be returned to Seoul`s control. A Seoul official yesterday denied speculation that the ongoing talks will result in most of the financial burden landing on the Korean side. He explained that the two countries had agreed that Washington will part bear the expense of the clean up operation. The dialogue now is focused on agreeing to what degree problems caused by the pollution should be addressed. ...
