Research on radar wraps upBy AMANDA LEHMERT Cape Cod Times June 18, 2006 (MA) MASHPEE - Based on the information gathered so far, there is no need to conduct further, large-scale studies into health problems and the PAVE PAWS radar system, an ad-hoc committee of health officials concluded yesterday. But at the final meeting of the PAVE PAWS Public Health Steering Group, a committee of local health board officials, the Air Force was asked to follow up on research that showed low-level radio frequency exposure could have a long-term effect on levels of the brain chemical dopamine. Steering Group Chairman Albert Price said yesterday that the panel's work was not definitive, but members said Cape residents should be reassured because evidence collected to date doesn't link adverse health effects to the radar. ...
