County school buses to park on contaminated propertiesBy Pat van den Beemt Towson Jeffersonian (MD) July 6, 2006 Groundwater contamination was discovered at the Army's former Nike missile site off Paper Mill Road in Jacksonville in the 1980s. It was detected just a few months ago at the closed Parkton landfill off Stabler's Church Road in Parkton. Now both sites will become parking lots for Baltimore County school buses. Not to worry. Since the diesel tanks at the lots are above the ground, county officials don't anticipate any further contamination problems. ...
