Ash will go to Texas nuke facilityBy Wynne Everett VALLEY NEWS DISPATCH (PA) Thursday, August 17, 2006 State and local authorities have reached an agreement with BWX Technologies to remove uranium-contaminated lagoon ash from Allegheny Township this year. The deal will move the ash from the former wastewater treatment lagoon at the Kiski Valley Water Pollution Control Authority's plant to a hazardous and low-level nuclear waste facility in Robstown, Texas. The cleanup is scheduled to be completed by the end of December, according to state officials. ...
