Blackwater plan gets Cambridge approval

CAMBRIDGE -- The final master development plan for Blackwater Resort 
Communities was approved Monday by the Cambridge City Council, 4-1.

Blackwater Resort Communities is proposed on 1,080 acres along Egypt 
Road, south from the boundary of Maple Elementary School.

Councilman Gilbert Cephas cast the sole opposing vote. He initially made 
a failed motion to delay the decision because of his concerns about the 
potential for contamination of the development site following chemical 
testing by the U.S. Army in the region in 1969.
