Feds: Windsor nuclear reactor site now clean and greenBy Kym Soper Manchester Journal Inquirer (CT) October 16, 2006 WINDSOR - A contaminated nuclear reactor site in the town's industrial section that at one time was used to train submarine sailors has been totally cleaned, federal and local officials say, making it the first such site in the nation to be returned to "green field" conditions. A large ceremony is planned for Wednesday morning at the former Knolls site, located on the Combustion Engineering campus on Prospect Hill Road, to celebrate the first ever release of a U.S. nuclear reactor property for unrestricted use. ...
