Utilized Site Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP). - LS] Shpack cleanup to resume: Work set to continue again in summer 2007 By Jessica Hackett Norton Mirror (MA) November 17, 2006 The Army Corps of Engineers and the Environmental Protection Agency informed residents and officials of Norton and Attleboro Tuesday night cleanup of radiological waste at the Shpack Landfill will resume late next spring or early next summer. Melissa Taylor, project engineer for the EPA, also said they were in the middle of negotiations with 11 of the 17 parties who they believe are responsible for the non-radiological part of the contamination. ... Tim Beauchemin, a project manager for the Army Corps, explained the work at the Shpack Landfill had to be suspended because the amount of radiological contamination was almost three times as much as they had first estimated, which means more money has to be budgeted to complete the project. ...
